Calendar
If you're wondering how far ahead I plan... ;-)
This is the rough calendar for 1978/1999. The main plot points (goblin rebellions, attacks, parties etc.) will be written nearer the time, so as to take into account things going on in the game, but on this calendar are the dates for things like birthdays, terms, Hogsmeade weekends, Quidditch matches, that should be pretty fixed. So, if you're interested or at any point want to check anything, here it is:

1977
End of term (21st June)
Summer Solstice (21st June)
Katharina's birthday (25th June) and coming-of-age party (Saturday 28th June). Everyone currently in play was invited except Harry and the Marauders. It was a BIG bash with everyone in posh clothes, music and dancing (including Katharina's concert pianist mother performing), drunkenness etc.
1998
Malfoy Summer Solstice Party (20th June). Everyone in play invited except Harry, Hermione, Remus. It was a costume party, and Walden attended dressed as Lucius, to everyone's amusement (except Lucius).
End of term (21st June)
Ritual Harry-slaying (21st June) and DE drunken revelry. Summer Solstice.
Katharina's birthday (25th June) and small 'family' celebration (Walden, Ben, Louisa).
Harry's death finally makes it into the newspaper (30th June).
